Living in a country with 4 distinct seasons a curly has to regularly adjust to suit.
Here’s our current winter regimen/products:
Noni’s Procedure:
- Every 1 to 2 weeks, Shampoo with Lush -Trichomania Shampoo Bar
- Condition with Live Clean – Exotic Nectar, Argan Oil Restorative Conditioner
- Finger detangle
- Rinse in cool water
- Apply Kimmaytube’s leave-in conditioner
- Then set hair in 7-10 two-strand twists or flat twists with whipped shea butter mix
- Let dry overnight
- Next day twist into mini twists or 2 french braids a la Tracee Ellis Ross. Yes Tracee Ellis Ross (my hair crush)
- Maintain and refresh by spritzing with water and sealing with whipped shea butter mix
The end.
(I promise you it’s way less intense than it sounds)
Winnifred’s Method:

- et Voila good to go until the next wash
- In between washes, shea butter mix is applied as needed to keep hair from getting dry.
