A big holla to my natural sistahs/peeps…
Wow, folks what a summer in Toronto the weather has been impeccably satisfying and I’ve been so busy. So excuse my lack of blogging!
My last blog was an open letter apologizing to my natural hair and the care of it while in single braids. So, since then I’ve made some changes and I want to report the results; I’ve mentioned before how thick my hair is, therefore it requires a lot of moisture (especially while in braids), so as a result I’ve stopped using shampoo – completely! No more suds, sulphates or harmful ingredients that would further dry out my hair. Now, I wash my hair with Terressentials Organic Hair Mud Wash – ONLY!
Did she just say MUD?!
The mud wash acts as a detoxing agent that really makes my curls pop and doesn’t leave my hair with that just-shampooed-dry-stripped feeling. Immediately after squeezing water out of my hair I follow with a combination of Olive oil and Coconut oil squeezing the braids together in small sections ensuring the oils penetrate through to my hair and to finish I wrap with a satin scarf.
Recently I removed a large section of my braids to have it redone and the difference in my hair was amazing. I couldn’t possibly go back to shampoo now. Know this, I have absolutely no affiliation with Terressentials the company nor are they paying me to endorse their product, but I just love to share good news!
If you choose to use this product, go ahead and give it several tries (6-7) before deciding to switch if you choose to. Personally, because I’m currently wearing braids I put mine in a tip applicator squeeze bottle and add water to make it more liquidy for easier penetration and distribution through my braids. Use it full strength or diluted the choice is yours. But don’t forget to follow up with your daily moisturizing regimen. Go ahead and feel free to wash your hair with mud!
EXTRA, EXTRA…I just found out unfortunately, this product is no longer available in Canada because of product label issues. It is now only available in 7 states: Arizona, California, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, West Virginia, Wyoming.
Three Naturals More than just your hair…
