Tip # 7 – Drop some change
Every year I see those Salvation Army kettles posted at stores and shopping centres, with someone standing there ringing the bells and I never stop to drop any change. Can’t tell you why that is, but for the first time last Saturday as I was walking out the store I decided to drop some change in the kettle. There was something different about this lady manning the kettle. She had a bounce in her step, as she rang the bells to the beat in her head and her smile was contagious. So, I thought why not. I smiled back and dropped some change.
Giving doesn’t have to be monetary but if you’ve got some change, consider dropping some in the kettle the next time you’re out shopping. No change, no problem. Consider giving the gift of time, your time that is, with someone you love or someone you know who could use some love.
